2010 Cadillac SRX Crossover - Kurt Rodgers, Moore Cadillac in Chantilly

The SRX luxury crossover posted another triple-digit month of sales increases as Cadillac total sales increased 42 percent in March.

Sales of SRX, a compact crossover redesigned for the 2010 model year, rose 550 percent, the seventh straight month of more than 100 percent year-over-year growth. The new SRX also is commanding a residual value well above the residual value for the previous model – up more than 17 percentage points.

“The SRX is proof that the right vehicle can break through even in a difficult market,” said Kurt McNeil, U.S. vice president for Cadillac sales. “SRX is appealing to luxury buyers searching for a crossover with style and performance.”

New York 2010: Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon

2011 CTS-V Sport Wagon

The world’s automakers are introducing around 20 new vehicles this week at the 2010 New York Auto Show. Some of those cars are pretty interesting, but here’s the juice: In 20 years, there is exactly one car being shown here today that people will still be whispering about. That car? The Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon. You’re reading this correctly. Cadillac, former maker of landau-roofed Boca Rotan retirement sleds will soon be offering a station wagon stuffed with a 556-horsepower, supercharged and Corvette-derived 6.2-liter V8. If that’s not loony enough for you, yes, you can order it with a six-speed manual. Wowza.

Officially Official: 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon unleashed!

March 29, 2010 Leave a comment

Here in America, drivers who prefer station wagons to crossovers and SUVs are in a distinctly fringe minority. In spite of that, Cadillac has heard the cries from the wilderness and delivered the car we’ve been clamoring for. The CTS-V Sport Wagon is now finally official and production starts later this year.

Ever since AMG built a handful of Hammer station wagons back in the late 1980s, the idea of a family hauler with ludicrous power and torque has held a strange and twisted appeal for us. The V-wagon takes all the traits we love about the 556-horsepower sedan and adds the expanded cargo body style.

My new home. The Largest Cadillac Dealership in the World.

Kurt Rodgers Moore Cadillac

Well, here it is… my new home. An award winning design, 16-acre, 140,000+ square foot, 2-story showroom that holds 12 New Cadillacs, 38 state-of-the-art Service bays and one of the largest Collision Centers in the country (voted the #1 Collision Center in the Washington D.C. Metro area by local residents in the WUSA Channel 9‘s annual A-List contest.)

Did you know that Moore Cadillac in Chantilly is the largest single-manufacturer car dealership in the Eastern U.S. and the largest Cadillac dealership in the World?  Granite floors, porcelain tile and solid Mahogany accents, oh, and room for over 1500 New Cadillacs. need I say more?  I took a few minutes earlier and took some pictures (before I was distracted by a truckload of brand new CTS, and a CTS-V). I will post more up soon. I also added a “bird’s eye” view to give you an idea of the size of the new facility.

(Cadillac CTS-V) Hennessey V700 is crazy, fast

March 26, 2010 Leave a comment

There are two kinds of people in the world. The first kind drives Cadillac‘s supercharged CTS-V, experiences the thrill of 556 horsepower paired with 551 pound-feet of torque and declares, “This thing is a monster. This is the fastest, most incredible American performance sedan ever made.” Then you have the other type of person, the kind that takes the 4,300-pound CTS-V to 60 miles per hour in just over four seconds, runs the quarter-mile in 12.5 seconds at 115 mph and says, “Meh.” Should you fall into that second category, John Hennessey has got a car for you.

John’s calling it the Hennessey V700 and, as you might have ascertained, it’s a Cadillac CTS-V pumped up on the best auto-steroids available in the Houston area. One crank of the fake key and your ears quickly explain that the gnashing, metal-on-metal-on-lava sounds leaking out from beneath the floor pan don’t come from some run-of-the-mill super-Cadillac. No, something special is going on under that that tortured hood. Viciously special.

Cadillac resurrecting Art & Science ad campaign

March 24, 2010 Leave a comment

When the first-generation Cadillac CTS went on sale in 2003, the brand-revitalizing sedan incorporated a new design language that General Motors called “Art & Science.” The idea behind the new design language was to “”incorporates sharp, sheer forms and crisp edges – a form vocabulary that expresses bold, high-technology design and invokes the technology used to design it.” The design came with its own marketing campaign too, which brought many new customers to the Cadillac brand.

In recent years Cadillac has used the tag line “Life. Liberty. And the Pursuit” as its marketing mantra, but Automotive News reports that the Wreath and Crest is getting back to its roots. GM Marketing Chief Susan Docherty told AN that “Art & Science” is making a comeback, and the brand’s new ad agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty is creating all-new assets for print, web and television spots, along with a fresh perspective for the Cadillac website.
